CEDARBURG'S 41st ANNUAL

FEBRUARY 21 & 22, 2015

Theme: Frozen Wonderland

Can't stay inside anymore!

It's almost time for the Cedarburg Winter Festival, scheduled for February 21 and 22, 2015.  BMO Harris Bank will be sponsoring our Ice Carving Contest along Washington Avenue.  Hop aboard our tractor-drawn hay wagon for the best view as the carvers create ice sculptures along the main avenue.  Competitive foodies will enjoy the Individual Chili Contest, Saturday at the Community Center.  Judging with "celebrity judges" begins at 11 a.m. for Individual Entries.  During the individual chili contest sit back, relax and enjoy as we call off raffle numbers for our audience members to win great prizes donated from our generous downtown merchants.  Cost to enter raffle:  FREE!  The Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts will host a "make and take" along with coffee/cocoa and sweets bar.  Food and beverages will be served all day on Saturday.

Be sure to catch the Winter Festival’s Grand Parade at 1 p.m. Saturday, with themed bed racing teams as well as fire trucks, costumed characters, and other fun participants. The parade heads down Washington Avenue to the frozen pond of Cedar Creek for the start of the Port Washington State Bank Costumed Bed Racing Competition at 1:30 p.m. This hilarious cutthroat competition will be followed by the challenging Barrel Races on Ice at 2 p.m. Following the barrel races enjoy open Family Skating on the Mill Pond with free hot chocolate and donut holes at the Boy Scout House and on the Festive Ice Rink located in Cedar Creek Park.

Join in the spirit of competition and sign your team up for Saturday’s Co-ed Sno-Ball Tournament at 9 a.m.  The Cedarburg Lion’s will tee-off in the snow with yellow tennis balls during the IceBurg Open Golf Tournament also in Cedar Creek Park, Saturday at 9 a.m. On Sunday, top dogs will compete in the Dog Weight Pull Competition, sponsored by Fromm Family at the Community  Center.

Call it Winter Combat, maybe Snow Dodgeball or just an old fashioned snowball fight--no, call it Yukigassen - Japanese for Snow Battle. Sign up for our 3rd Annual Snow Battle, being held in Cedar Creek Park on Saturday, February 21 at Noon for Adults and Sunday, February 22 at Noon for ages 14-18, sponsored by Cedarburg Parks and Recreation.

For grown-up fun on Saturday evening from 7-9 p.m. stop by the Cool Brew and Tunes. Festivals of Cedarburg, Inc., Stilthouse Gastro Pub, Sunburst Ski Resort and the Brewligans, have teamed up to bring you live music featuring Gary Clausing's and Tony Frontier's Piano Brew Dueling Pianos, a sampling of appetizers  from Cedarburg's best restaurants, a tasting featuring crafts beers and wine from Cedar Creek and Chiselled Grape Wineries.  Vote for your favorite home brew presented by the Brewligans.  Food Sampling, Beer/Wine Tasting, and Live Music Package:  $25 per person.  Must be 21 to attend.  The event will be held at the Cedarburg Community Center, W63 N641 Washington Avenue, in the center of downtown historic Cedarburg.  Tickets will be on sale at the Community Center on Saturday until 4 p.m. as well as at the door starting at 7 p.m.
